Our Founder and Executive Director

KRISTAL GURLEY

Kristal Gurley is the founder of KADA (Kreative Architectural Design Academy). Originally from Houston, Texas, Kristal received a Bachelor of Architecture from Prairie View A & M University and a master’s degree in education. In 2008, upon receiving her master's in education, she dreamed of one day opening a summer STEM program for kids. A program wherein kids can study architecture while being creative, imaginative, and collaborative.

Kristal worked in the corporate world of architecture and engineering for many years then decided to teach after becoming a mother. After teaching for twenty-two years in the secondary school districts of Texas, she decided to give the younger kids a chance to explore architecture through KADA. She wants to inspire young girls and boys to believe in themselves and achieve goals they never thought were possible.

Her passion for design is evident and her love for creativity is beyond amazing. Her greatest desire is to reach out and touch as many kids lives as possible by giving each child the opportunity to design, create and build for the future. On July 7, 2021, KADA launched its first summer STEM Camp for economically disadvantaged and gifted and talented kids ages eight through sixteen in Fort Worth, Texas.

Noami Olvera

Teacher and Administrator

Noami Olvera brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to KADA, honed through her extensive experience working with children. Holding a Master of Education Administration degree and certifications in Mid-Management and Elementary Education from the University of Texas at Pan American, Noami has over a decade of administrative experience. Her background and dedication have been instrumental in developing and enhancing KADA’s educational programs, ensuring that our students receive top-notch guidance and support. Noami's passion for education and her commitment to nurturing young minds make her an invaluable asset to our team.

Kristal Gurley

Architectural, Interior and Fashion Design

Kristal Gurley is the founder of KADA (Kreative Architectural Design Academy). Originally from Houston, Texas, she holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Prairie View A&M University and a master’s degree in education. After working in corporate architecture and engineering, Kristal transitioned to teaching for twenty-two years in Texas. Inspired by her passion for design and creativity, she launched KADA in 2021 to offer a summer STEM program for economically disadvantaged and gifted kids in Fort Worth. Her mission is to inspire young minds, fostering creativity and confidence in architecture.

William Gilbert

Computer Science and Robotics

William Gilbert brings an impressive background to KADA as a retired veteran with 12 years of service in the United States Air Force. Fluent in three languages and holding a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of North Texas, William is a dynamic and knowledgeable instructor. At KADA, he shares his expertise in Computer Science and Robotics, guiding students through complex concepts with ease. William's military discipline, combined with his passion for technology and education, makes him an exceptional mentor who inspires and empowers our students to excel in their STEM pursuits.

Natalie Mc Cune

Interior Design

Natalie McCune is a dedicated interior design student at the University of North Texas, with a strong background in education and a passion for helping kids. A graduate of Eaton High School, Natalie has gained valuable experience as a substitute teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. As one of my prodigies, I have had the privilege of teaching Natalie interior design and witnessing her incredible talent firsthand. Her enthusiasm for the field and her love for working with children make her an exceptional member of the KADA team, where she continues to inspire and mentor our students in their creative endeavors.
